The World’s Premier Honeymoon Hotspots

Sep 17, 2023 By Juliana Daniel

The honeymoon is the most memorable vacation for most couples. This first trip after the wedding, however lengthy or close to home it may be, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Future trips, perhaps with a growing family, maybe longer or more exotic. It's a chance to relax and enjoy your newlywed bliss without worrying about the future.

This list has something for everyone, from beachgoers with coconuts to extreme sports and world-class food. There are some obvious choices here, like India, Maldives, and Paris, but we've also included some less obvious choices, like Turk and Caicos and Bhutan, for honeymooners.

You can locate this year's top honeymoon destinations all over the globe right here.

Rajasthan, India

Rajasthan is one of the top honeymoon destinations for honeymoon because of its traditions and sightseeing. The state is always a good time to visit. You can observe contrasts like you've never seen them by traveling to both rural villages and urban centers like the capital, Jaipur, also called the Pink City. Explore incredible buildings and go tiger-trekking in the desert. And pamper yourself like royalty at the Amanbagh Pink Palace Hotel, a former Mughal royal retreat. You can have all the luxuries you'd expect, plus instruction in that most outlandish of sports, camel polo.

Dubai

Because of its central location, this global city is a top pick for honeymooners from all over the globe. Dubai is home to the world's tallest skyscraper, futuristic developments, and elevated dining experiences.

Dubai provides romantic activities like hot air balloon rides to witness the sunrise and Range Rover safaris, making it a fantastic place for couples to relax. Dubai is ideal for honeymooners who wish to spend a few days in the city before traveling to the Maldives or Seychelles. Emirates Business Class takes 12 hours from the East Coast.

Turks and Caicos

Turks & Caicos comprises 40 separate islands scattered over the Atlantic Ocean to the southeast of the Bahamas. As fewer people live on the coral islands (Providenciales being the most famous), they are the ideal destination to get away from it all in the tropics. Amanyara is a private, all-inclusive resort located on the beach of an expansive wildlife preserve. There are private infinity pools and ocean-view villas for you and a comprehensive wellness program to keep you busy for a week.

Scotland

You don't have to like films set in Scotland to think that honeymooning there would be wonderful. Scotland's varied topography ranges from the busy cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow to the lonely woodland wonderlands of the Cairngorms, with many lochs and glens in between.

Even surfing (with a heavy wetsuit) and golf (at the world-class The Machrie Hotel & Golf Links on Islay, home to nine whisky distilleries) are options. The Balmoral, a five-star hotel in Edinburgh with its award-winning Number One restaurant, is a fitting base of operations.

Mexico City

Aesthetes, art enthusiasts, and couples who highly value gastronomy can find something to enjoy in 2018’s World Design Capital. The popularity of Mexico City has skyrocketed in recent years due to the rapid development of the city's restaurant, club, and museum sectors. World-famous eateries like Pujol, Sud 777, and Merkavá are only accessible through careful planning (and securing reservations in advance). Las Alcobas, a charming boutique hotel, is ideal for curling up with a good book after indulging. Other top luxury hotel chains with locations in the area include the St. Regis and the Four Seasons.

Paris, France

What a very obvious choice. Despite its other nicknames, "City of Lights" and "City of Love," Paris is most recognized for its romantic atmosphere. The French capital is rich in history, art, and architecture and has some of the world's best cuisine and wine.

Honeymooners can choose from a wide range of hotels in Paris, from the classic and elegant to the hip and trendy Hotel Providence Paris.

Bali, Indonesia

Honeymooning in Bali is a magical experience. The Indonesian Island, the only Hindu stronghold in the vast country, is an ideal setting for passionate encounters. In addition to its unspoiled beaches, surfing, snorkeling, and massages, Bali is also home to many cultural attractions. Including artistic expression, musical expression, rice terraces, and temples. Incredibly verdant accommodations like the Four Seasons Bali at Sayan and Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the jungle, and the Uluwatu Surf Villas or Mulia Villas on the coast are perfect for getting in touch with nature and celebrating the island's reverence for it.

Bhutan

For the adventurous couple, this South Asian treasure is a must-see and one of the best honeymoon destinations in the world. It is a fascinating country with its own personality and terrain, located between the two natural wonders of the world, India and China. The Himalayan micronation is a trekking mecca and a cultural treasure because of its isolation and modest Western influence. As you go from valley to valley, you can stop at Buddhist temples, take in breathtaking views, and visit forts.

Maldives

The mere word "Maldives" conjures up ideas of a dreamy getaway perfect for newlyweds on their honeymoon. This South Asian paradise is comprised of 26 coral atolls, all of which are located in the Indian Ocean. Here, visitors may unwind on a never-ending stretch of white sand beaches and gorge themselves on fresh fish and seafood harvested from the rich reefs. At any luxurious resort, such as the Four Seasons Dream Collection and the pioneering, super-private Soneva Fushi, you can anticipate a holiday filled with romantic meals, spa treatments, underwater adventures, and relaxation. This is something you can look forward to throughout your time away.

We hope you liked this list and have decided on your honeymoon destination. Enjoy the time with your partner and make memories!
